Ford F8

The new generation of the Ford GT is the ultimate supercar. While the first-gen had a 500 horsepower mid-mounted V8 with a manual transmission, Ford stepped up and decided to use some cutting edge technology for the new car. The V8 was replaced with a 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 that produces over 600 horsepower.

Year of start manufacture
  • 1984-2005 Mazda Bongo/Ford Econovan; 1989-1994 Kia Capital; 1988-1991 Kia Concord; F8-DOHC. The F8-DOHC is a DOHC F8 and basically a de-stroked version of the FE-DOHC displacing 1.8 L (1,789 cc). It uses the same exhaust cam, but a different intake cam with less lift and a long, single-runner intake manifold.
  • The Ford flathead V8 (often called simply the Ford flathead, flathead Ford, or flatty when the context is implicit, such as in hot-rodding) is a V8 engine with a flat cylinder head designed by the Ford Motor Company and built by Ford and various licensees. During the engine's first decade of production, when overhead-valve engines were used.
